Sometimes, even when life is good, one needs to get away. Yesterday, I took my two girls and visited an old friend, Assateague Island.

On the way there, we went to two Harriet Tubman Museums. The one run by the National Park Service can be skipped, unless you want the junior ranger badge and a patch(there are two separate books, so plan time accordingly). The one in downtown Cambridge was friendly, had slavery artifacts, a movie, pictures, and books to peruse. Not sure what the national park was thinking regarding the design of displays and information but the building is architecturally pretty. Signs are in braille but not angled so that I had a hard time reading while in a wheelchair.
