Coins

Lorelai can add coins.  For years I have given one of my children my change from purchases and ask them to tell me the amount.   If one gives the correct answer then, he/she gets to keep the money.  Jame has finally given the correct answer without help from her sister or brother.   On Friday, she was given a nickel and three pennies.   While she did call the nickel “a quarter”, she assigned a value of five and a value of one to each of the pennies.   She then used her fingers to count.   She is eight cents richer.
